United Action for Youth's Young Parent Program is sponsored in part by Early Childhood Iowa
UAY’s Young Parent Program provides services for young parents 24 years of age and under, including pregnant and parenting youth. Our family support workers are dedicated and knowledgeable individuals who meet young parents where they’re at to provide support and guidance during pregnancy as well as after the baby is born. All services are voluntary and available to residents of Johnson County.
Services:
Home Visits
Home Visits include building parenting skills; learning about child development; informal counseling; and area advocacy and referrals
Parent Group
Our parenting group is open for anyone who meets our eligibility criteria, and meets at our Eastdale offices. Our staff facilitates discussions while parents share challenges they are facing, advice, and information.
Tot Shop
Families in our program can get essentials like diapers, wipes, clothes, safety equipment and more.
Referrals
- Referrals are welcomed from a variety of sources including community agencies and directly from young parents.
